Job Summary:

•    Leads quality audits and successfully delivers on project level commitments. This role leads and models the MetLife Success Principles and contributes to department strategy and activities. 
•    Blends strategy, relationship management, audit project management, and learning and development.
•    Acts as an overall project manager and defines scope, timeliness, and success during the audit project’s life cycle, with a primary focus on Technology and Data functions.
•    Challenges status quo, thinks critically, and approaches the audit work differently, such as using contemporary techniques (agile, data analytics, digital tools), to deliver valued insights and fact-based assurance for better audit outcomes (e.g., valued audit results by stakeholders, deeper/broader coverage, audit time reduction).
•    Collaborates extensively with other lead auditors and builds relationships with business and audit stakeholders.
•    Manages and coaches Auditors to ensure individual and collective teamwork meets agreed upon standards.
•    Demonstrates capabilities to ‘connect-the-dots’ among key risk areas for effective audit coverage. 
•    Communicates with clarity, including abilities to share expectations and provide clear and concise feedback (written, visual, verbal).
•    Supports Japan Head of Technology Audit and Asia Head of regional Technology Audit to effectively deliver the Technology Audit Plan with audit results that are valued by stakeholders.
 

Responsibilities:

•    Leads and models MetLife success principles.
•    With a primary focus on driving internal audit efforts to increase overall value to the business through the lens of Technology and Data Audit related projects, understand expectations regarding deliverables and timeframes on the Audit Plan. 
•    Contribute to Audit Universe risking and planning activities.
•    With a primary focus on Technology and Data functions, lead and manage audit life cycle activities via effective project management with the following:
    ・Coaches challenging the status quo and applying critical thinking in audit procedures.
    ・Fosters a continuous learning culture with agility.
    ・Primary point of contact for day-to-day audit engagements.
    ・Ensures individual and collective teamwork meets agreed upon outcomes.
    ・Proactively identifies opportunities to use and apply contemporary techniques to lead audits. 
    ・Practices risk awareness and demonstrates foundational understanding of current and emerging risks.
    ・Builds and fosters effective relationships, including effective negotiation of audit findings.
    ・Communicates with clarity, including abilities to share expectations and provide clear and concise feedback (written, visual, verbal).
    ・Prepare and review audit findings plus official audit reports. 
    ・Complete quality audits and successfully delivers on project level commitments.  
•    Timely and effective tracking / follow-up on open issues. 
•    Work together with Japan Head of Technology Audit and other Audit Team Leaders / Chief Auditor of Japan to scope and deliver assigned audit related projects in collaboration with other auditors on time with agility, efficiency, and appropriate use of resource capabilities. 
•    Remain active with appropriate external professional organizations and stay informed on developments in the field of auditing, industry regulation, insurance practices, and technology advancements. 
•    Serve as a technical expert in areas such as but not limited to Cybersecurity, IT Risk Management, System Development and Project Management, Cloud, Infrastructure management, IT operations, Resiliency, IT General Controls, etc.

Requirements:

•    Highly motivated for learning, self-development, and continuous improvement with agility.
•    Experience to lead, coach, and model challenging status quo and applying critical thinking when delivering value-adding outcomes.
•    7-10 years of working experience in IT auditing, Information Security, Cybersecurity, and/or other IT sectors such as application development, platform (Cloud, server, VM) management, IT operation, IT governance, and IT project management.
•    Strong knowledge in auditing several IT areas including Cybersecurity, Cloud, Digital Applications, Infrastructure, Security Configurations, Resiliency, Emerging Technologies, IT operations, etc.
•    Hands-on experience in people management and development. 
•    Strong managerial, communications (English and Japanese), analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
•    Big 4 experience and/or internal audit in the financial service industry. 
•    CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent professional qualification to demonstrate IT skillsets and/or risk management.
•    Comprehensive knowledge of audit practices, procedures and principles with the ability to interpret and analyze complex concepts and apply these in innovative ways.
•    Intermediate-Proficient with data analysis tools and techniques such as Alteryx/Excel/ACL/Tableau/Power BI and other tools. 
•    Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Economics, Finance or related field of study.
•    Program assurance experience or large-scale transformation programs or auditing emerging technologies.
•    Technical knowledge of accepted best practices for managing IT processes such as ITIL or COBIT.
•    Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Audit Standards, IIA Standards, risk and controls, audit sampling and testing methodologies, SOX (or J-SOX) requirements, risk management, regulatory reporting, and data governance.
•    Comfortable to lead and perform in a globally matrixed organization.
•    Comprehensive knowledge of audit practices, procedures and principles with the ability to interpret and analyze complex concepts and apply these in innovative ways.
•    Strong managerial, communications, analytical, problem solving, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders as well as coach audit team members.
•    Highly motivated for learning and self-development and continuous improvement. 
•    Able to operate in a globally matrixed organization.
•    Able to work under pressure and independently with minimum supervision. 
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to influence business stakeholders.
